Theo Iaponas is responsible for Global Employee Benefits of Swiss Life International. He has worked in the insurance industry for over 17 years. After working as a consultant for a few years, Theo joined Swiss Life in 2009 and held various positions within Swiss Life International such as Head of Product & Business Development, Marketing Actuary and Head of Corporate Clients (Luxembourg). Since 2017, he is the CEO of Global Employee Benefits.
Theo studied Statistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, followed by an MBA at University of Washington, USA. Since 2011, Theo is also a fellow of the Society of Actuaries (USA).
Albert Bakker is responsible for the elipsLife Benelux organization. He has worked in the Dutch insurance industry for over 26 years. In the initial nine years he worked as COO in one of the leading insurance companies, SNS Reaal. In the following 13 years he was CEO of several Dutch and international insurance companies, a.o. the pension Division of Achmea.
Albert studied Business Economics at the University of Rotterdam, Netherlands, followed by a post MBA in Accountancy. After working for three years as an auditor he held various Finance functions, before stepping into the insurance world.
Albert joined elipsLife in 2017, the moment elipsLife changed to a country organization. As CEO Netherlands he is responsible for both the Dutch and Belgian market and since July 2022 a member of the Swiss Life International Global Employee Benefits Management Team.
CEO Elips Life Ltd & CEO Switzerland
Patricia Mattle has over 12 years of experience in the insurance sector and is a recognised expert in the employee benefits field. Patricia has held a variety of roles in the areas of employee benefits and pension funds, and has spent time working in the US and France, all of which has allowed her to develop a broad range of skills and international experience in life and health insurance.
In her role before joining elipsLife, Patricia spent two years in the Pensions department at AXA Switzerland as Head of Autonomous Market Group Life.
Patricia holds an MA in Marketing, Services and Communication Management from the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland.
She has been CEO Switzerland/Liechtenstein at elipsLife since April 2020 and since July 2022 a member of the Swiss Life International Global Employee Benefits Management Team. Since July 2022 she is also CEO of Elips Life Ltd.
Pierluigi Verderosa joined elipsLife in January 2020 as CEO Italy, responsible for the overall business development and operations in the Italian market, and since July 2022 a member of the Swiss Life International Global Employee Benefits Management Team. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the Italian insurance industry. In his different roles he worked in marketing and sales with agents and financial advisors channels, technical departments in Property & Casualty as well as Life.
In addition, he lead more than 250 people and was also head of operations. As General Manager of Cardif BNPP’s Italian subsidiary, Pierluigi launched a new business unit for managing the Italian insurance of salary and pension granted loans. With this initiative, Cardif became market leader in Italy.
He holds a degree in Management & Economics from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, Italy.
Philippe Golinvaux joined Swiss Life Global Employee Benefits as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer in March 2020.
He brings broad experience in the insurance industry for close to 20 years with various global insurance companies (NN, Axa) in different roles in Finance, Risk Management and Underwriting. In his previous role, Philippe was CFO at AXA Luxembourg.
Philippe studied Civil Engineer at the University of UC Louvain (Belgium) and also holds a Master’s degree in Actuarial Science (also from UCL). He is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in Luxembourg.
CEO Swiss Life Network
Michael Hansen is responsible for the Swiss Life network at Swiss Life International Global Employee Benefits since 2016.
He has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years.
He started his career in various Life/Pension companies in the Nordics, before joining the Swiss Life Network as Regional Sales Director in 2002. From 2012 – 2013 he led several Wellbeing start-ups and was Head of International Danske Bank/Danica Pension BoD Insurope until 2016.
Michael studied Insurance Law at the Danish Insurance Academy.
Head of Operations Lux
Olivier Goïot is responsible for Operations and Strategic Initiatives at Swiss Life Global Employee Benefits Solutions Luxembourg since March 2022.
He has worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years, both as as an auditor for 10 years, and as CFO or/and COO/head of operations within Zurich Group or Swiss Life Group. Prior, he was Head of Client Services for an asset management company. Olivier joined Swiss Life Luxembourg six years ago and has since held the positions of Head of Operation Global Employee Benefits Solutions, CFO/CRO Luxembourg, and Head of Operations Global Private Wealth Solutions.
Olivier studied at EDHEC Business School in Nice, France.
Chief Transformation Officer
Karine Verbruggen is heading the newly created Business Transformation department at Swiss Life International Global Employee Benefits since April 2022, after having managed the Operational department of Swiss Life International Global Employee Benefit during four years and the Business Engineering team during two years.
Before Swiss Life, Karine held several international leadership positions, driving group projects and teams across Europe, Asia and Africa.
She graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Economics from UCLouvain University, Mons, Belgium, and Laval University, Quebec, Canada.
Chief Underwriting Officer
David Lata is responsible for Underwriting at Swiss Life International Global Employee Benefits since 2022 and a member of the Swiss Life International Global Employee Benefits Management Team since July 2022.
He has worked in the Life and Reinsurance industry for over 20 years across many markets. David joined elipsLife late in 2020 as Head Costing & Underwriting.
He started his career with Generali Worldwide on the valuation/reserving side and then joined Winterthur Group in a product design/profitability role before moving to Swiss Re and later Credit Suisse ILS (Insurance Linked Securities).
David is an actuary (Swiss Actuary Association) and studied actuarial science at HEC University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
elipsLife operates in Europe. Its European headquarters are located in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, and it has branch offices in the Swiss (Zurich), Dutch (Hoofddorp) and Italian (Milan) markets. In accordance with the principle of freedom to provide services, elipsLife also operates in Belgium.
